Amazon have announced the Mobile Masters Las Vegas (MMLV) tournament, bringing mobile competition to the Millennial Esports Arena.
The MMLV is part of Amazon’s efforts to make competitive gaming more open to mobile competitors and viewers, and is their second attempt at mobile esports after Mobile Masters New York back in June.
MMLV has a prize pool of $80,000 up for grabs, with teams competing in Vainglory, Critical Ops, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars and World of Tanks Blitz. The event will run on October 14-15, and big names like TSM, SK Gaming and Echo Fox in attendance.
Critical Ops, World of Tanks Blitz and Vainglory are all established hits in the mobile space, with keen competitive scenes. Power Rangers: Legacy Wars is much less established, a mobile fighting game pushed out by Saban in the run-up to the cinematic release of the Power Rangers movie, with characters from the new reboot brawling alongside classic characters. ESL held several tournaments for the game earlier this year, but it’s still a leftfield choice for appearing at the tournament.
ESL and eSports Productions are partners with Amazon for the event, and for those looking to make the trip to the event, attendance is free. It’ll also be broadcasted on Twitch, for those wanting to watch from the comfort of their own sofa/desk chair/beanbag.
