Crossfire devs acquire rights to the World Cyber Games

The developers of Crossfire, the FPS that is massive in Asia, have acquired the rights to the World Cyber Games brand.

The World Cyber Games were once one of the biggest events in the eSports calendar, but with the last event taking place in 2013 the brand has sat dormant for a long time. However with this new deal developers Smilegate Entertainment are looking to bring it back, presumably with a lot of Crossfire action involved.

The deal has seen all WCG rights transferred to Smilegate from Samsung Electronics, who previously owned the brand. There was no mention of how much the deal is worth.

Further news on what the return of WCG will look like is expected in the coming months.
