Facebook’s broadcasting and streaming feature, Facebook Live, is now available to use on desktop and laptop computers.

For some time now the feature has only given users the ability to share live video content through their phones and mobile devices. Now, with the new changes to Facebook Live on PCs, it seems clear that the social network is taking its first stab at enticing in the lucrative video game streamer market.

Previously, you could only use Facebook Live with streaming software through a Page, but now it can be done through a standard profile too. “If you’re a gamer, this new feature makes it easier than ever to stream your PC gameplay to friends and followers and engage with them while you play,” reads a statement from Facebook.

While the announcement is also good news to those looking to do live Q&As, tutorials and other such videos, the new features do seem to be pushing Facebook Live into competition with Twitch. Currently, it undoubtedly serves as the main hub for eSports streaming and draws in over 9 million active users per day.
