Blizzard made a shock announcement at Blizzcon this weekend - there’s a new Hearthstone expansion, and it will be released this week.
Less than four months after it’s The Grand Tournament expansion introduced 132 new cards, this Thursday will see the release of League of Explorers which will bring with it another 45.
League of Explorers is a single-player expansion in the vein of Curse of Naxxramas and Blackrock Mountain. Wing 1 will arrive on November 12th with the remaining three wings to arrive at a rate of one per week over the following month.
A new mechanic is included too - Discover. Playing a Discover card allows users to choose one of three random extra cards from their class to add to their hand.
“League of Explorers is a fun mix of memorable locations from Warcraft and exciting new locations to battle through,” Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said. “Players who join the expedition are in for a good time and will walk away with some great new cards for their collections.”
Wings are priced at $6.99 individually or $19.99 for all four (UK prices TBC).
