CIS eSports organisation Virtus.Pro has returned to League of Legends by singing a new team.

After a lengthy hiatus from the League scene Virtus.Pro has signed a new roster with the aim of competing in the LCL Open Cup and in the next season of the LoL Continental League.

Daniel “Blasting” Kudrin will play as the team’s AD carry, Ivan “Paranoia” Tipukhov will play as the team’s mid laner and Alexander “SaNTaS” Lifashin will play as the support. Currently the final two players, Rafael “Doxy” Adl Zarabi in the top lane and Jonatan “SezzeR” Villebro in the jungle, are only listed as stand ins for the team and there is no news on if they will ever become full members or if the team is actively looking for replacements.

“Riot Games are systematically developing the League of Legends in CIS countries. As the region’s leading organisation, we can’t stay outside of that process,” said Virtus.pro’s General Manager Roman Dvoryankin. “However, we remain focused on our key disciplines: CS:GO, where we have the best team in the world, and a Dota 2 roster, which have most recently showed prominent performance on the EU qualifiers for The Boston Major. We’re entering the LCL with a young squad consisting of promising players. I’m sure that they will be able to show solid results in the second half of the year, if a correct approach will be taken”.

The new Virtus.Pro League of Legends team will have its first professional event in just a few weeks when the players head to Moscow and Saint Petersburg to compete in the LCL Open Cup between November 20th and 27th.
