The Overwatch MGA 2016 Championship Presented by MSI has been announced with a $75,000 prize pool and a LAN final at the Gfinity arena in London.
Four of the world’s best Overwatch teams will compete at the Gfinity arena on December 7th and 8th for the title of MGA world champion. The winner will walk away with $40,000, second place will take $20,000, third will grab $10,000 and finally fourth will take home $5,000.
But before teams can book their flights to London, which will be covered by MSI along with accommodation for the finals, they will have to battle it out in the qualifiers. The final team will be an MSI sponsored team that will be announced at a later date.
The first online qualifier will feature up to 128 teams in each region, with the top eight proceeding to the regional qualifier. The winner of this regional qualifier will book a slot at the LAN finals in London. The first online qualifier is for the American region and runs on October 4th and 5th, Europe will then follow on the 7th and 8th and finally Asia will wrap things up on the 10th and 11th. Regional finals will then take place on October 14th and 15th for America, 17th and 18th for Europe and finally Asia rounds out the qualifiers on October 20th and 21st.
