EDward Gaming has announced that they will not be able to make it to the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice event this week due to visa issues.
Players were apparently unable to attend visas, so the team was forced to pull out, however the most skeptical fans will remember that EDG has a history of skipping non Riot events.
They have been replaced by Hong Kong Esports, who will make the trip to Katowice on short notice to compete against some of the biggest names in the world. The LMS side certainly isn’t of the same calibre as EDG, but a full tournament is better than one with teams missing.
IEM Katowice kicks off this week, on February 22nd, and runs until the grand final on Sunday.
