ESL One Cologne, the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major, has sold out the LANXESS arena.
Just under a week before the action is due to kick off in the largest sports stadium in Cologne the last ticket was sold, meaning over 14,000 spectators will be watching the best CS:GO players in the world compete on each day of the event.
“We’re incredibly excited to see so many CS:GO fans from all over the world travelling to Cologne for ESL One,” said Ulrich Schulze, VP of pro gaming at ESL. “The world’s top CS:GO teams, a sold out arena and the array of side activities we have lined up for visitors will definitely make for an exciting and memorable eSports weekend.”
ESL One Cologne looks set to be the biggest Counter-Strike major yet, with viewership numbers expected to smash both the major records and all of ESL’s records. All of the action from the weekend will be broadcast across a number of online providers, including Twitch, Azubu, Hitbox and Yahoo!. The action in the LANXESS arena kicks off on 8th July.
