Dota 2 tournament ESL One Frankfurt 2015 attracted over 1m online viewers, with numbers sharply up year-on-year.
Peak concurrent viewing numbers hit 1,061,441, up 79.8 per cent from last year. Over 15,000 attended the event in person.
“We are immensely proud of what we were able to create in Frankfurt this year,” ESL’s pro gaming MD Ulrich Schulze said. “Everyone really came together to, in their own way, make the event as special as it was. A huge thank you to everyone involved behind the scenes, to the players, sponsors, and of course, most importantly, the Dota 2 fans!”
Previous event ESL’s Katowice also broke records back in April, when it attracted over 1m concurrent Twitch viewers.
ESL was acquired by European broadcaster MTG earlier this month.
