So this is a weird one. Two NASCAR drivers have some beef, and want to settle it in Halo.
Erik Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing and Clint Bowyer of Stewart-Haas Racing have teamed up with Evil Geniuses and their new sponsor Hisense to hold a Halo show match at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during the weekend of the Hisense 4K TV 300 in Charlotte.
Jones and Bowyer will act as team captains for the match, and will fill their teams out with two Evil Geniuses Halo team members and one fan. For fans to qualify they must submit a video to the hashtag #HisenseDualThreat saying why they deserve to be a part of the team. Eight finalists will be chosen, with the final two fans being chosen by a public vote.
“At Hisense, we embrace head-to-head competition in all its forms and believe that the television is the hearth of the modern home: bringing people together to watch great content or, in this case, decide who’s the biggest dual threat,” said Mark Viken, Vice President of Marketing at Hisense. “We’re also very excited to give two lucky fans the chance to compete with some of the biggest stars of NASCAR and professional gaming for ultimate bragging rights.”
“I know they’re hyper competitive on the race track, so I’ll be curious to see how good Erik and Clint actually are at Halo,” said Peter Dager, CEO of Evil Geniuses. “I can only hope the Evil Geniuses guys don’t embarrass them too badly.”
