Xbox and 343 Industries have announced that the new Halo Championship Series: Pro League will launch on May 31st with a $250,000 prize pool.

The league, which is similar to Activision’s Call of Duty Pro League, will be split into two divisions, one in North America and one in Europe. The NA league will feature Halo World Champions Counter Logic Gaming along with seven other teams who make it through the upcoming qualifiers. The EU division will feature six teams, although details are currently scarce on who may be included.

League play will start on May 31st and run through to July 28th, with the finals being held in Los Angeles. ESL will broadcast all the action three days a week, with two days being dedicated to the American division and one for the EU division. Each team will play each other twice to decide rankings, with the top four teams advancing to the finals.

The first qualifying event for the NA league will take place at PAX East in Boston on April 24 where one team can secure a place in the competition. Evil Geniuses, OpTic Gaming and Team EnVyUs are all confirmed for this event.

More information on the EU side of things and further details of the American League and finals will be made available in the coming weeks.
