Rogue and TeamEnVyUs took the top two slots at the Overwatch Rumble finals on April 23rd, showing that they’re two of the strongest international teams in Overwatch right now.
This proves that OGN has invited two of the best international teams for their Overwatch APEX event, with the two teams having a strong showing despite the online tournament being rife with ping issues.
Continuing the rivalry between the two teams, Rogue bested EnVyUs 3-2, snatching $6,000 for their win. EnVyUs took home second place, and despite the adage “there are no prizes for second place”, they were given $3,000 for their efforts.
EnVyUs and Rogue famously squared off in the first season of the OGN Overwatch APEX, with EnVyUs squeezing the win in this case. Fans will no doubt be hoping that both EnVyUs and Rogue survive the group stages of APEX season 3, so they can see the American Overwatch titan’s clash again.
EnVyUs were marred significantly by the loss of support player Dennis Hawelka, better known as INTERNETHULK, who announced his departure from the organisation, joining Laser Kittenz as an overwatch coach while he explores other options.
After his departure, EnVyUs had to put their DPS player Jonathan ‘HarryHook’ Tejedor Rua into a support role, with Luis “Lui” Olivares taking over DPS. It’s unsure if Lui will remain with the team through the Overwatch APEX or if they’ll replace them with someone else.
