Valve has announced the beginning of a series of Majors for Dota 2 to compliment its annual event The International, with the first to be hosted in Frankfurt in November.
According to a post on the Dota 2 blog, the event will take place at Festhalle Messe across six days of competition starting on November 16th.
The event is being organised in co-operation with ESL, who held their own Dota 2 tournament in Frankfurt’s CommerzBank Arena in August.
The first five days will be free to attend, while tickets to the finals on November 21st will cost €50.
16 teams will compete for a prize pool of $3m. A few notable teams will receive invites, while others will be able to compete in qualifying tournaments taking place between October 6th and 9th.
