There's just four months left until the biggest Dota event of the year returns, and Valve has now released details on the International 7's regional qualifying dates.
The regional qualifiers are the first stage in qualification for The International, and will take place from June 26 to June 29. The open qualifiers will follow, and the dates for these are still unknown. Valve also hasn't revealed exactly which regions the qualification will cover.
16 of the world's best Dota 2 teams will be playing in Valve's Kiev Major from April 24-30, the last event backed by the company before the International. Valve hasn't revealed whether this team will follow the same format as the Kiev qualifiers, which featured seperate qualifiers for the CIS and South America to ensure that at least one team for each region was guaranteed a spot in Kiev.
The International is the largest event in the Dota scene, and one of the largest in the world, handing out a remarkable $19.8m in prizes at last years event. Most of this prize is crowdfunded, with a percentage of in-game items purchased in support of The International going directly towards prizes for the teams competing in it.
